Cultural Competency for Health Care Professionals Target Audience: Health Care Professionals, Outreach and Direct Service Staff, Health Educators, Human Service Providers. Program Sponsor: Neighborhood Health Plan of RI Training Variations: This training is offered in several versions:
Half Day Training: Covers the definition of cultural competency, reviews CLAS standards, provides a self-assessment and case-studies training Full Day Training: Covers everything in the shorter trainings as well as providing exercises in non-verbal communication and an action plan to take back to your organization Course Outline This training course is designed to provide tools to health care professionals to facilitate an introspective analysis of diversity issues, cultural understandings, assumptions, behaviors and beliefs. It is intended to assist individuals and organizations with enhancing cultural competency awareness, knowledge and practice skills in the clinical setting. Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of completion. Training Objectives
